Head of Recreational Gymnastics
We are currently looking for a full time Recreational Coach who can oversee our thriving Recreational program. This position is a 50/50 coaching/program management role and a senior position within the club. Successful applicants will have:
- Have 3-5 years gymnastics coaching experience
- Recreational coaching, program management and program development experience
- Experience in coordinating and mentoring Junior coaches.
- Excellent communication skills with children and adults.
- An overall positive attitude and passion for the sport of gymnastics.
- Proven ability to work as a key member of a team.
- Dedication to ensuring safe working practises by following our health and safety procedures.
- Able to work Monday - Saturday (timings will be provided).

FULL TIME GYMNASTICS PROGRAM MANAGER
ARGOS Gymnastics Club’s vision is to develop programs and grow participation in competitive and recreational gymnastics codes that meet community needs, giving every participant the opportunity to be the best that they can, and provide programs for those with ambition to achieve regional, national and international honours. We are a club of 800 members per term across WAG & MAG Artistic (GFA and Competitive), Trampoline, Tumbling and also offer Parkour, Preschool and schools-based programs.
POSITION OBJECTIVES
- Reporting to the Centre Manager (CM), the Gymnastics Programme Manager (GPM) will lead the successful delivery of the ARGOS gymnastics program.
- The GPM is responsible for the planning and organisation of all aspects of the Gymnastics Program including setting the strategy and annual plan, organising and controlling program activities, innovating the program and providing regular reporting and communications on program achievements.
- The role leads the Gymnastics Coaching staff as a role model for the ARGOS values, recruiting, retaining, developing and motivating a high-performing coaching staff while also identifying and supporting the future talent development for coaching and judging.
- The role is accountable for establishing and delivering the program budget and targeted financial and operational metrics, in collaboration with the Centre Manager and Committee, providing regular performance reporting.
- The GPM is a member of the ARGOS Senior Management Team accountable for driving the overall success of ARGOS with strong leadership skills and a passion for excellence in a high performing team environment.
- Note: Role expected to include 15-20 coaching hours/week to establish as a full-time role.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to plan strategically for the future and for day to day activities of the Gymnastics Program.
- Staff leadership and management experience and skills, including staff development.
- Relationship management skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to competently use information and communication technology systems and resources.
- Relevant coaching experience and qualifications with a preference for high level coaching experience in WAG.

Gymnastics Coaches
We are looking for part-time and fulltime recreational and competitive coaches. If you can work some or all of the hours below, we would love to here from you.
WE CAN OFFER:
- Hours: Monday – Thursday 2.00pm – 8.30pm & Saturday 8.30 – 3.30pm
- An hourly rate of $27-30 dependant on experience and qualifications.
- Coaching advancement, and career development and growth, through gymnastics and non-gymnastics education.
- Excellent working conditions. We are a large club with over 750 members, great equipment, and a pro-active approach to all thing’s gymnastics.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE:
- Gymnastics coaching experience. Experience in any code such as WAG, MAG, TUM or TRA is a plus, as we are willing provide training in both gymnastics and class management.
- Hold a current GNZ coaching qualification (or equivalent).
- Good all-round knowledge of gymnastics and skill progressions and a desire to continually develop own knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills with children and adults.
