COMPETITIVE WOMENS ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS (WAG)
COACHING OPPORTUNITY IN TAURANGA,
BAY OF PLENTY, NEW ZEALAND

 

The sunny Bay of Plenty is a booming region in the North Island of New Zealand. Stunning scenery, accessibility to many main centres, top beaches and snow fields in winter has seen the population grow to around 140,000 people. The Port of Tauranga is the biggest in New Zealand and the surf beach at Mount Maunganui is a favourite stop for cruise ships.  This lifestyle destination offers a perfect mix of beach resort and city living.

 

ARGOS Gymsport is the largest gymnastics club in the region and is seeking to employ a Senior Women’s Artistic coach within our expanding Women’s Artistic Gymnastics programme.

Reporting to the Head Coach/WAG Programme Director, the successful applicant would oversee the Women’s programme, with primary coaching responsibilities for the senior competitive squad (Step’s 5 – 8). The role also includes administration, mentoring of junior coaches and coaching other codes dependent on experience. This could include trampoline, tumbling, rhythmic and men’s artistic gymnastics.

Hours and remuneration rate are dependent upon experience, qualifications, role and responsibilities. The role may also be offered on a part-time basis should this suit the preferred applicant.

The successful applicant will have: 

  • Minimum Junior Gymnastics New Zealand coaching qualification (or equivalent international certification)  
  • Good all-round knowledge of gymnastics and skill progressions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A positive attitude with the desire to fit into our well-functioning team
  • Dedication to ensuring safe work practises
