GYMNASTS HEAD TO USA FOR TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
The team of artistic gymnasts from Tauranga’s ARGOS Gymsports plus Amy Pilkington (not pictured) from Te Puke Gymsports, has been invited to attend a 2-week training event at Twistars Gymnastics Club in Lansing, Michigan, USA. Owner John Geddert was the Head Coach of the 2012 USA Olympic Team in London and 2012 USA National Elite Coach of the Year.
Departing July 8th the girls are looking forward to some great outcomes from the trip. In addition to individual skill development, the trip provides an excellent training opportunity for Head Coach, Ross Madden plus brings some benefits to Argos itself.
“Soooo lucky” is how Caitlin Fletcher feels about being part of this trip. “Going to the States and doing what I love to do with one of the world’s best coaches and gyms, is a fantastic opportunity. I’m more than excited. Thank you to everyone who is helping make this possible.”
At just 9 years old, Isobel Turner is the youngest athlete on the team.
“I am competing at Step 4 and the skills are a much harder than last year. I’m hoping John can help me get better and learn how to do a giant on bar”.
