TERM 2 REGISTRATIONS WITH SOME EXCITING CHANGES

18 Mar

Introducing our Recreational Gym Timetable for Term 2 of 2020 with a couple of options that we are sure some of you will find will work well for your children

GFA classes based on skill levels
To enable some of our gymnasts to progress better, we will be providing classes of different skill levels for children of the same age. This means that there will be classes specifically for children that are new to gymnastics enabling them to learn the basics along with an alternate class for more advanced gymnastsa allowing them to develop further. Children enrolling for the Year 5/6 classes will be placed into classes by the coaches.

Guidelines:
Beginner: never participated in gymnastics before or have only done gymnastics for a few terms & not confident
Intermediate: has done gymnastics for at least 1 or 2 terms, is capable/confident on all equipment
Advanced: has done gymnastics for at least 1 year, working towards advanced skills (e.g. somersaults)
Please note: Classes for more advanced recreational gymnasts are usually at a later time of the day when the gym is not as busy. This allows better access to equipment and some competitive equipment may be available for these classes.

Class selection is at the Recreational Head Coach’s discretion

If 1 hour just isn’t enough gymnastics for you, then there is a new option now available - 1.5hr GFA classes - $225. We have a number of older gymnasts who are keen to do more gymnastics and upskill their level. Our 1.5h GFA classes cater for those needs. The extra half hour allows for more conditioning, stretching, and working on more advanced skills. The gymnasts will have the opportunity to go to regional Recreational Competitions if they wish to and are keen (not a must!). These new 1.5h GFA classes are available for girls 7/8y. 9/10y. and 11+y.

Rotations
We are excited to change to 3 x 15 min. circuits where the children get more time per apparatus and the opportunity to gain more skills and reach higher levels.
Girls: Vault & Floor, Bars, Beam
Boys: Vault & Floor, Men’s area 1, Men’s area 2

Please feel free to chat to GFA Head Coach Kathrina or the Office if you would like any further information on the above.
